2023 H.W.C. Receives Perfect Score from James Suckling and The Wine Advocate
H.W.C Cabernet Sauvignon 2023
100 points
This potent, structured, memorable wine is built for aging but polished gently so it's drinkable soon too. Aromas of blackcurrants, black cherries and cocoa give way to a firm-textured palate sensation, focused black fruits, dark chocolate, blackberries and spearmint. Made from 100% cabernet sauvignon from the Mondavi heritage clone 31. Best from 2033. —Jim Gordon, JamesSuckling.com
Highest Beauty Cabernet Sauvignon 2023
99 points
Such breadth, generosity and velvet in this gorgeous, remarkable wine. So nicely layered, rich, seamless and broad on the palate, offering oodles of black cherries, baked blueberries, dark chocolate and subtle baking spices. Smooth, melted tannins. A blend of cabernet sauvignon with 4% petit verdot chosen mostly from the Monastery Block of Mondavi's To Kalon Vineyard. Drink or hold.—Jim Gordon, JamesSuckling.com

Highest Beauty Cabernet Sauvignon 2023
99 points
Its more crème de cassis, graphite, spicy wood, smoke, and violet-driven aromatics all give the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Highest Beauty a brilliant, Saint-Julien-like style. It's full-bodied, with a concentrated, layered mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and ripe tannins. I love its overall balance, and it has terrific purity and a great finish. This heavenly 2023 is going to benefit from short-term cellaring and have 20-30 years of overall longevity. Drink 2025-2055. —Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com
Eliza's Red Wine 2023
98 points
The first year where it's a co-ferment, the 2023 Eliza's Red Wine is based on 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon raised all in barrel. Stunning aromatics of cassis, graphite, scorched earth, and spring flowers emerge from the glass, and it's concentrated and medium to full-bodied, with a great mid-palate, flawless balance, and ultra-fine tannins. It shows the pure class of this site and is a "wow" wine that should drink well over the coming 20 years or more. Drink 2025-2045. —Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com
